Ottawa Weekend

So I just got back from my third weekend in Ontario. I was in Ottawa to attend my brother's 31st bday party. He had a BBQ hosted at his friend's place, very nice place. The BBQ started at 3pm, but we didn't get there until 6pm. By then, there were no more cheese for the burgers and the salad had been in the sun so long, the cucumbers were translucent. lol The BBQ was Hawaiien themed, I was a bit disappointed that not many people followed the rule of wearing something tropical.

After the party, we stopped by the Harvey's. Rach is a vegetarien. Unfortunetly, the BBQ was strictly for carnivores. All she had was chips, poor girl. At the Harvey's, I ordered an incredibly salty poutine. Why did I buy poutine outside of Quebec is a question I cannot answer. After Harvey's, Kev wanted Dairy Queen, so we went and I got a delicious Vanilla Milkshake. Just thinking about it makes me salivate.

While in Ottawa, we stopped by a Walmart and I bought Rach and I a hand mixer for our baking needs. I remember those nights we spent in the kitchen hand mixing recipes that requires a hand mixer. We mixed our poor little flabby arms like there was no tomorrow. lol So i'm excited to have a second attempt at making cupcakes. My first and last batch wasn't all that successful. Pictures and blog to come on my first cupcakes.
Lately, i've been a bit stressed. One of the many reasons is because I invited my family over for a BBQ. They haven't seen my new home yet. I'm a bit nervous. I also haven't completely unpacked yet either. I have about 5 days to do so. The menu for our BBQ is: Beef skewer with onions and green pepper, scallop skewers, bulgogi short ribs, portobello and swiss cheese burger, and a raspberry mousse cake made by Joey. I'll try to remember to take pictures of all the food...but i'll probably forget and start pigging out.
