Ground beef
1 can of sweet corn bits
3-4 medium yellow potatoes
milk
butter
Mrs. Dash seasoning
garlic powder
salt and pepper
Worcestshire sauce
soy sauce
- Preheat oven to 450.
- Boil potatoes until tender. Mash with butter and milk until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Brown the beef on medium-high heat. Add the last 5 ingredients or use whatever seasoning you want...
- Add corn into the meat mixture.
- Assemble the pie. Meat mixture with corn and mashed potatoes on top.
- Broil until the top is browned.
The dish came out good, but a bit bland. When Kevin first saw the finished product, he said it looked like the sherperd's pie from a box. I'll take it as a compliment. He ate it without complaint. Also a good sign. I, on the other hand, am used to mixing it with ketchup. In highschool, everyone ate their sherperd's pie with ketchup. I've gotten used to it and it doesn't taste right without it. Perhaps next time i'll use more spices in the groung meat to give it some flavour.
